COPING WITH STRESS: Steps to Chill

Grounding tools – 5 SENSES

Look for 5 objects you can see

Notice 4 things you can touch or feel with your hands/body/feet. 

Listen for 3 sounds. 

Notice 2 flavors you can taste. 

Smell and list 1 odor you notice. 

Put your hand on your belly and take a deep breath, noticing your belly rise, and when you exhale try to breathe out slow and controlled. 

Breathe in – count to 4

Exhale – count to 4
